About The Position

This is a 100% FTE position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the UW Health Breast Center. The role involves delivering compassionate, multidisciplinary, and coordinated care for breast patients through personalized, patient-centered care. The RN will partner with breast cancer patients and their families across all stages of care, from prevention and screening to diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. Responsibilities include providing patient education, coordinating care for patients diagnosed with breast cancer or other breast conditions, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team. This team includes genetic counselors, breast surgeons, plastic surgeons, medical oncologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, and advanced practice providers. The role also requires using targeted assessment skills for patient visits and telephone triage. The position is located at University Hospital and Eastpark Medical Center in Madison, WI.

Requirements

  • Graduate of school of nursing
  • 6 months of RN experience
  • Registration as a registered nurse in the state where employed or licensure in a state in the licensure compact Upon Hire
  • Current CPR/BLS certification Upon Hire

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant oncology experience
  • Chemotherapy experience
  • Experience with Venous Access Devices (VADs) and IV skills
  • Certification in specialty area of practice
