About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the UW Health Breast Center, which is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). The RN will deliver compassionate, multidisciplinary, and coordinated care for breast patients through comprehensive and personalized patient-centered care. This involves partnering with breast cancer patients and families through prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. The position includes providing patient education, coordinating care for patients diagnosed with breast cancer or other breast conditions, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team. The RN will also use targeted assessment skills to evaluate patients during visits and via telephone triage.

Requirements

Graduate of school of nursing Required
6 months of RN experience Required
Registration as a registered nurse in the state where employed or licensure in a state in the licensure compact Upon Hire Required
Current CPR/BLS certification Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
Relevant Inpatient RN experience Preferred
Ambulatory experience Preferred
Relevant oncology experience Preferred
Chemotherapy experience Preferred
Experience with Venous Access Devices (VADs) and IV skills Preferred
Certification in specialty area of practice Preferred

Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, multidisciplinary, coordinated care for all breast patients through comprehensive and personalized patient-centered care.
Work in partnership with breast cancer patients and families through prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.
Provide patient education and coordinate care for patients who have been diagnosed with breast cancer or other breast conditions.
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team that includes genetic counselors, breast surgeons, plastic surgeons, medical oncologist, radiologist, radiation oncologist and advanced practice providers.
Use targeted assessment skills to assess patients during visits and via telephone triage.
