Summary: (4) 10 hour shifts including weekends. Provides direct patient care to bone marrow transplant patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Requirements

  • Accredited Program: Nursing (Required)
  • BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Certificate (ONS) - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy & Immunology Certificate (ONS_IMMUNO) - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • 1 year ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate Required for those RN's administering chemotherapy.
  • May also require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program
  • Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate Required for those RN's administering chemotherapy.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
  • May precept student nurses and new hires.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
