Summary: (4) 10 hour shifts including weekends. Provides direct patient care to bone marrow transplant patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Requirements

  • 1 year ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate Required for those RN's administering chemotherapy.
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered/Professional Nursing program
  • BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association
  • BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Certificate (ONS) - Oncology Nursing Society
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy & Immunology Certificate (ONS_IMMUNO) - Oncology Nursing Society
  • Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
  • May also require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
  • May precept student nurses and new hires.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
