About The Position

Provides and directs safe, effective, and culturally-competent patient care for mothers and infants. Key accountabilities include: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care using critical thinking and evidenced-based practice; adherence to Professional Practice Standards as defined by ANA; and active participation in quality monitoring and performance improvement activities. In addition, when effective assessment skills, independent judgment, and critical thinking are evident, roles will be expanded to include labor and delivery and/or transitional nursery.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing
• NRP within 6 months
• Basic Life Support
• Registered Nurse in Iowa
• Registered Nurse in Illinois within 1 year
• No experience required
• Moderate interpersonal skills for communication of moderate difficulty and sensitivity, including detailed and lengthy dialogues, exchanges of information, and dealing with moderately complicated problem situations or stressful encounters.

Nice To Haves

• Clinical certification
