About The Position
As our Registered Nurse (RN) at St Josephs Behavioral Health, you will be a key player in delivering high-quality, direct patient care within our psychiatric and chemical dependency acute care facility. This role involves critical responsibilities, influencing positive clinical outcomes and supporting our organization's mission and strategic goals. We're seeking a compassionate and skilled RN to uphold the highest standards of nursing practice and patient advocacy. Every day you will engage in comprehensive patient care, from initial assessment and care plan development to ongoing evaluation and intervention for diverse age populations (child, adolescent, adult, geriatric). You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate effectively, and apply sound clinical judgment in a dynamic environment, ensuring patient safety, privacy, and adherence to ethical guidelines. Your daily contributions will directly impact patient well-being and recovery. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong leadership, teaching abilities, and exceptional communication skills. You will possess in-depth knowledge of the nursing process, principles, and procedures, coupled with documented evidence of sound clinical judgment and technical competence. Your commitment to patient care, ethical standards, and continuous improvement will be crucial in ensuring the highest quality of service. Allows for privacy and modesty in the provision of care. Identifies self by name and title to patient/family. Determines presence/type of Advanced Directive. Reports suspected cases of abuse/neglect, if identified. Understands role of, and how to access, the Bioethics Committee. Establishes presence of consent prior to treatment/procedures.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 months recent experience in an Psychiatric and/or Chemical Dependency Nursing Acute Care Facility
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association
