About The Position

This RN position is at our Resident Clinic at the NEW Amber Valley location working with the psychiatry Residents and Psychiatrists. This team is close knit with positive relationships with providers. Opportunity to help mentor psychiatric residents as they learn what a clinic practice is like and collaborate with nursing for patient care. As a RN in Behavioral Health you will be able to assist patients in improving and maintaining their mental health, helping them to live a full life with their chronic illness which is very rewarding. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinic team. Individuals who thrive in this role are adaptable, great communicators, detail-oriented and have excellent time management skills. These RNs collaborate with providers to guide patients to the appropriate level of care.

Requirements

  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being served reside.
  • Within first 30 days of employment, all requirements to obtain license needed for role is completed.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
  • One year of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Communicating with patients over the phone or via MyChart messages
  • Assisting in getting medications refilled
  • Answering side effect or symptom questions
  • Gathering data from patients when calling with questions
  • Triaging patient questions/needs
  • Meeting face to face with patients for occasional vitals and medication side effect screens
  • Medication prior authorizations when needed
  • Addressing inquiries via phone and MyChart messaging
  • Providing patient and family education
  • Utilizing nursing and assessment skills
  • Adhering to triage protocols
  • Answers patient inquiries over the telephone, assessing the severity of the patient's symptoms and medical needs according to triage algorithms.
