About The Position
4H is a 22-bed unit that cares for a variety of medical and surgical patients, specializing in digestive diseases. The patient population is an even mix of medical and surgical cases, including colorectal and bariatric surgical patients, as well as bowel obstruction, kidney failure, cellulitis, and falls. The unit is an accredited bariatric surgery center that focuses on continuous quality improvement. The team is dedicated to providing a high level of care to enhance patients' and families' lives. Blodgett Hospital is a community and teaching hospital with a history of providing high-quality, compassionate, and personalized medical care since 1846. It offers patient-focused inpatient care in 248 private rooms and outpatient services for medical, surgical, and specialty care, achieving high patient satisfaction rates.
Requirements
- Associates in Nursing Required
- Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
Responsibilities
- Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
- Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health.
- Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
