About The Position
Our Labor and Delivery unit at Butterworth Hospital, the flagship hospital for Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals, is a nationally recognized facility for patient quality and safety. We are the regional leader in full-service hospitals and deliver the most babies in Michigan, with an average of 8,000 births a year. The unit is equipped with 28 private birthing suites, an 11-bed triage, 3 OR suites, and 5 recovery bays. Our dedicated staff includes RNs, Anesthesia RNs, Nurse Techs, OB Techs, and Unit Secretaries. Butterworth Hospital, located in the heart of Grand Rapids, has a long-standing reputation for excellence in care, diagnostics, treatment, prevention, and education since 1873.
Requirements
- Associates in Nursing Required
- Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
- Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 180 day
Nice To Haves
- 5+ years of women's health nursing experience preferred
- ICU experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
- Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health.
- Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
