As an RN in Urology, you will provide professional nursing care to patients in a fast-paced ambulatory setting with a strong focus on complex urologic oncology care. You will manage patient triage, symptom assessment, and clinical decision-making while caring for a high volume of procedure patients, including those receiving chemotherapy. In this role, you will perform comprehensive nursing assessments and administer treatments that require RN expertise, collaborating closely with providers and the interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Three years of recent experience as an RN
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Urology experience or strong LPN experience
  • ER experience
  • Experience performing procedures at bedside

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
  • Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage and establish care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments.
  • Initiate CPR and other emergency measures as needed.
  • Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
  • Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment.
  • Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
  • Assist in preparation of the department specific education for patients and colleagues.
  • Facilitate smooth operation of the ambulatory areas.
  • Participates in quality initiatives, process improvements, and research activities to improve patient outcomes, patient experience, and patient safety.
  • Maintain professional growth and development in the nursing field and identify annual core competencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
