Cleveland Clinic’s Westlake Medical Campus provides a wide range of outpatient healthcare services, including primary care, pediatrics, and family medicine, along with numerous specialties such as orthopaedics, gynecology, ophthalmology, podiatry, vascular medicine, audiology, and sleep medicine. The facility also offers diagnostic imaging, laboratory testing, physical therapy, and a retail optical shop. As an RN in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), you will care for patients with complex medical histories, supporting advanced surgical procedures, pain management, and nutritional needs while helping those with visual impairments recover and regain optimal vision. You will also have access to professional development opportunities, including continuing education and training programs to enhance your clinical skills. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working days between 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
One year of clinical experience as an RN in a perioperative or critical care setting
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association(AHA) or the American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or willing to obtain within six months of hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Current demonstrated clinical proficiency

Responsibilities

Provide clinical nursing in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
Assess patient care needs, plan the delivery of care and process patients through the ASC.
Direct other caregivers in providing patient care.
Assume charge responsibilities, resolve problems and report variances.
Develop educational materials and provide health education to patients and families.
Maintain nursing competencies.
Participate in preparing staff development programs.
Identify self-learning needs, establish goals and evaluate attainment of goals.
Demonstrate respect for the cultural and social differences that exist among people.
Maintain confidentiality of information regarding patients, families and caregivers.
Demonstrate a positive, concerned and sensitive response in the workplace and contribute to a positive workplace atmosphere.
