Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital provides comprehensive pulmonology services, including pulmonary function testing, lung nodule screenings and outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation. As an RN on the Pulmonary team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education. This opportunity will not only allow you to advance your nursing skillset but also help to provide a safe and thorough visit as you are a vital part of assisting in the execution of the care plan.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of recent experience as an RN

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Experience with pulmonary-specific workflows and testing

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
  • Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage and establish care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments.
  • Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
  • Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
  • Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment.
  • Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
  • Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure smooth and effective transitions of care.
  • Participate in quality initiatives, process improvements and research activities to improve patient outcomes, patient experience and patient safety.
  • Cover other nursing roles within the department.
  • Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.
