Cleveland Clinic Florida pediatricians provide comprehensive, compassionate children’s health care services focused on the health and well-being of our youngest patients. Our team is there throughout every stage of a child’s development, from infancy through early adulthood. By joining the Pediatrics team as an RN, you will provide direct nursing care to patients on a day-to-day basis. In this position, you will use your nursing knowledge to support patients, acting as both an educator and advocate. You will also cross-train to provide coverage for other ambulatory departments within St. Lucie West. You can also take advantage of the countless professional and educational resources offered by Cleveland Clinic, which will help you to grow your skills and advance in your nursing career. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. with on-call, weekend and holiday rotation requirements. Must be able to float South MOB and Treasure Coast Pavilion to support staffing needs.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • One year of recent experience as an RN
  • Will consider LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience in substitution of RN experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area

Responsibilities

  • Assess health status by completing a nursing assessment.
  • Perform telephone triage.
  • Notify physicians/LIPs of abnormal findings.
  • Establish a care plan in collaboration with the patient, family, and health care team.
  • Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure smooth and effective transitions of care.
  • Assist with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physician/LIP and monitor patients for response.
  • Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
  • Provide health education to patients and families.
  • Develop, evaluate, adapt and document education to learning needs.
  • Participate in quality initiatives, process improvements, and research activities to improve patient outcomes, patient experience and patient safety.
  • Maintain professional growth and development in the nursing field and identify annual core competencies.
