As an RN in the Infusion Clinic, you will assist patients in their cancer journey by delivering exceptional care during their visit. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. The ideal RN for this role should be compassionate about oncology care and patients as well as knowledgeable of chemotherapy plans. This position is a steppingstone to becoming a Team Lead and offers the opportunity to become ONS and Oncology certified. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 4:30PM or 8:30AM – 5:00PM.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
  • ONS Chemo/Bio course completed within two years of hire if employed on units where chemo is administered

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Knowledge of chemotherapy
  • Ability to safely handle spills and emergency situations
  • Excellent IV skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
