About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an RN – Ambulatory (Hematology/Oncology) for an exciting Travel or Local job in Syracuse, NY. This role involves providing direct nursing care to hematology and oncology patients in an ambulatory setting. Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, monitoring condition changes, administering medications, IV therapies, chemotherapy, and infusion treatments. The nurse will also educate patients and families, collaborate with healthcare staff, and document patient responses in the EMR. Ensuring compliance with infection control and oncology care standards, and responding to emergencies are also key aspects of this position. Requirements
- Active RN license (NY)
- BLS required
- 1.5+ years acute care experience
Nice To Haves
- Outpatient oncology/infusion experience preferred
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to hematology and oncology patients in ambulatory setting
- Perform patient assessments and monitor condition changes
- Administer medications, IV therapies, chemotherapy, and infusion treatments as ordered
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and side effects
