As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care from initial introduction through final send-off, providing professional nursing care to a designated group of patients in an ambulatory care setting. In this role, you will support the growth of CV Testing and Cardiology SPECT/PET Imaging within Imaging by assisting with medications administered during procedures, monitoring patients for ECG changes or signs of instability, and providing post-procedure recovery care. You will interact directly with patients, families, and visitors, providing education, answering questions, and helping ensure a safe, comfortable, and positive patient experience throughout their care.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • In areas performing moderate sedation procedures and/or cardiac stress testing, must have current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through American Red Cross Certification within six months of hire
  • One year of recent experience as an RN
  • OR LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting
  • OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Cardiology or strong LPN background
  • One year of experience in cardiac setting

Responsibilities

  • Assess health status by completing a nursing assessment.
  • Perform telephone triage.
  • Notify physicians/LIPs of abnormal findings.
  • Establish a care plan in collaboration with the patient, family, and health care team.
  • Collaborate with care coordinators to ensure smooth and effective transitions of care.
  • Assist with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physician/LIP and monitor patients for response.
  • Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
  • Provide health education to patients and families.
  • Develop, evaluate, adapt and document education to learning needs.
  • Participate in quality initiatives, process improvements, and research activities to improve patient outcomes, patient experience and patient safety.
  • Maintain professional growth and development in the nursing field and identify annual core competencies.
