Jacobs Health Center’s Department of Cardiovascular Medicine has physicians in every cardiovascular specialty working to offer the latest medications and interventional heart disease procedures. The end result — better heart care outcomes for our patients. A caregiver in this role will work a flexible schedule that may alternate between 8-hour and 10-hour shifts based on departmental needs. Typical schedules may include 8:00am to 4:30pm one week and 7:00am to 5:30pm the following week.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
In areas performing moderate sedation procedures and/or cardiac stress testing, must have current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification within 6 months of hire.
One year of recent experience as an RN.
Will consider LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience in substitution of RN experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory Cleveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
3-5 years of prior experience in a cardio, ICU and/or ED setting highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage and establish care plans.
Administer medications and treatments.
Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures and specialized patient care equipment.
Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
Cover other nursing roles within the department.
Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.
