About The Position

This is a part-time, remote role for an experienced Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) to support RN Directors of Health Services in Assisted Living Senior Communities. The primary responsibility is triaging calls from clinical staff for emergency situations, acting as an extension of the site DHS. The role involves coordinating care by reaching out to hospitals, families, providers, and site directors. The position requires the nurse to be licensed in IA, ND, FL, and CO, with Cassia covering these expenses. A cellphone, laptop, monitor, mouse, and keyboard will be provided. Director of Health Services experience or Assisted Living experience is required.

Requirements

  • Current Minnesota RN license and in good standing.
  • Ability to become licensed in IA, ND, FL, and CO.
  • Director of Health Services experience or Assisted Living experience.
  • Prior RN experience required; must be comfortable with resident care processes in AL setting and/or long-term care.
  • Must have Assisted Living experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with electronic medical records.
  • High comfort level learning new technology programs.
  • Excellent internet connection.
  • Self-starter with a desire to be a part of our RN Triage team that delivers the continuity of care during after-hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Director of Health Services experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Triage incoming after-hours calls from clinical staff regarding urgent and emergent resident situations.
  • Assess, prioritize, and provide clinical guidance to ensure appropriate and timely care.
  • Coordinate care by communicating with hospitals, providers, families, and site leadership as needed.
  • Serve as an extension of site DHS to support clinical decision-making and continuity of care.
  • Document all calls, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Actively monitor and respond to calls throughout the entire shift.
  • Provide clear, compassionate, and professional communication to Assisted Living staff, residents, and families.
  • Build trust through responsiveness, clinical expertise, and consistent follow-through.
