About The Position
This is a Full Time, Days position in the Main OR Surgery department at Baptist Health Princeton Hospital.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health and unit/department.
- Maintains current State of Alabama RN license
- Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
Nice To Haves
- ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas.
Responsibilities
- Assesses patient needs, develops and revises individualized care plans, monitors progress, prioritizes care, and serves as a patient and family advocate.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills for age-specific care, including growth and development principles, unit-specific procedures, and equipment use.
- Functions as preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, or clinician; coordinates care, delegates appropriately, and communicates with interdisciplinary teams.
- Supports hospital and nursing goals, practices compassionate care, maintains legal and ethical standards, and fosters respectful relationships.
- Maintains accurate, consistent patient records meeting regulatory standards and adheres to hospital policies, attendance, and safety guidelines.
- Engages in professional development, attends trainings, mentors staff and students, and partners with leadership to identify growth needs.
- Participates in committees, peer review, performance improvement initiatives, and applies evidence-based practice to resolve issues effectively.
- Ensures efficient use of supplies, maintains a clean and organized work area, and performs all other duties as assigned.
