About The Position

Join us at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital where we have been providing world-class care to our community for over 100 years. Here, we strive for patient-centered care and comfort with our collaborative team of healthcare professionals. We are committed to serving the community and treating our patients as family. Akron General’s 52A Surgical Unit is a post-surgical unit that specializes in general surgeries, such as bariatric gastric sleeves, Roux-en-Y, cholecystectomy, thyroidectomy, urostomy and more. 52A is the primary trauma floor for patients not requiring intensive care, and these are high acuity patients coming from the PACU and ED who require close monitoring and mobilization. As an RN on the team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. Caregivers on the 52A team should be prepared for drains, dressing changes and patient mobility. We realize that flexibility is essential for many caregivers today. That’s why we offer a variety of PRN shift options—including staggered start times, flexible shift lengths, and specialized assignments—to fit your lifestyle. We’re proud to welcome experienced nurses into our caregiver family and are committed to providing the flexibility you need, no matter what life brings. A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days and hours.
