About The Position

We provide an integrated system of healthcare experts committed to providing exceptional care. This is a full-time night shift position. The Intermediate care unit provides comprehensive care to patients with a variety of disease processes, with a primary focus on cardiac conditions. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with complex medical needs, particularly those affected by heart-related illnesses including but not limited to heart failure, arrhythmias, post cath lab intervention, and myocardial infarctions. The unit has 27 beds with an average daily census of 18-24 patients and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.

Requirements

• Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (NLN, ACEN, or CCNE) if they are a new graduate nurse.
• BLS certification
• ACLS, NRP, PALS as determined by unit scope of practice

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred (must be completed within 5 years of hire).
• A nurse who is returning to the acute care setting after five or more years may be required to provide evidence of successful completion of a refresher course.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process in providing nursing care to patients in all settings in collaboration with other health care providers.
• Accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law.
• Acts as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities.
• Monitors patient status, including vital signs, ECGs, and other diagnostic data, and responds to changes in patient condition.
• Administers medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed.
• Educates patients and their families on cardiac health, post-treatment care, and lifestyle modifications.
