Requirements

  • 12 months of RN experience

  • Experience especially in surgical or procedural care, preoperative and postoperative care

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards, under the direction of leadership.
  • Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
  • Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
  • Provide safe, evidence-based perioperative care with a focus on clinical competence and surgical excellence.
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team to support optimal patient outcomes.
  • Prioritize tasks, demonstrate flexibility, and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced setting.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Cross-train to the Procedural GI area and Pre/Post areas.
