About The Position

This is a full-time position available with 8-hour shifts in a busy Orthopaedic practice. The role involves direct care of ambulatory Orthopaedic patients, brace fitting, setting up and assisting with procedures, suture/staple removal, applying a variety of casts and splints, medication administration, patient and staff education, and charge nurse duties. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a very fast-paced environment, multitask, and lead a team in providing optimal patient care and throughput. The role requires representing the strong commitment with staff and patients.

Requirements

  • NYS license
  • A minimum of three years of experience is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in ambulatory care and/or Orthopaedics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards.
  • Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
  • Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services.
  • Assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
  • Direct care of ambulatory Orthopaedic pts.
  • Brace fitting.
