Provides routine therapeutic services under the supervision of a therapist or therapist assistant. Responsibilities include providing routine services to patients as outlined in the department's scope of service, working under the direct supervision of a licensed therapist or therapist assistant. The role involves providing accurate written and/or verbal objective feedback and documentation of observations related to the patient’s response to activities, utilizing correct forms or system tools. The aide will also assist in training new employees and volunteers, observe patients during activity and report responses to the therapist or therapist assistant, and maintain a safe and clean work environment. Additionally, the aide will attend in-services and departmental or hospital meetings, assist with department quality control (equipment checks, temp logs, cleaning checklists, etc.), and perform clerical duties as needed. The role requires preparing equipment, rooms, and patients for therapy treatment, completing competencies, and transporting patients and supplies as needed. The aide will also check with other staff to offer assistance throughout the day. DCH Standards include maintaining performance, patient and employee satisfaction, and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation. Adherence to the DCH Behavioral Standards, including creating positive relationships with patients/families, coworkers, colleagues, and self, is required. The aide must perform essential job functions in a manner that ensures the safety of patients, visitors, and employees, identifying and reducing unsafe practices and recognizing and taking appropriate action to reduce risks and hazards. This role requires the use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and intranet, and adherence to all DCH Health System policies and procedures. All other duties as assigned.
