About The Position

We have a strong Risk Management team with dedicated individuals that are passionate about what they do and are inspired by the challenges of today. We are seeking a Risk Manager to join our team to support our 7 markets by providing insurance and risk management support for our projects. In this role, you will review, and assess contracts and insurance bid reviews, and execute insurance strategies and agreements to protect our people and assets. You can expect to support our business strategy through a programmatic approach to risk management by methodically determining, assessing, and managing our insurance and bond requirements to assist our leadership team in project pursuit and execution. You will have a wide range of responsibilities which includes supporting Kiewit District personnel, interactions with Corporate departments and others in the profession, including insurance brokers and carriers.

Requirements

• BS / BA Undergraduate Degree
• 10 years of multi-line property casualty experience (insurance brokerage, claims adjusting, underwriting or risk management)
• Strong organization, time management and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel
• High level of motivation, willingness to learn – a go-getter willing to go the extra mile
• Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• High level of flexibility and adaptability to changing environments
• Regular, reliable attendance

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Contract reviews, project insurance bid reviews, insurance and bond requirements, and pricing is preferred
• Experience in selection and negotiation processes with brokers and insurance carriers is preferred
• Engineering and construction experience is preferred
• Ability to travel as needed for training, broker / carrier meetings, project sites, less than 20% of the time

Responsibilities

• Provide project insurance bid reviews, insurance and bond requirements, pricing and other information necessary to assist operational estimating pursuits
• Assist with project contract review and negotiations as they relate to insurance and other risk management matters
• Provide support by participating in selection of and negotiation with brokers and insurance carriers
• Manage and assist projects with the investigation and settlement of builders’ risk, property and equipment claims
• Gather underwriting information and prepare specifications for insurance renewals
• Obtain project specific insurance as required by contract, including builders’ risk, pollution liability and professional liability
• Manage insurance policy extensions
• Tracking project insurance program data
• Reviewing and filing insurance policy changes
• Special projects as assigned
