Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, risk management, or related field
  • At least five years of experience in corporate risk management or commercial insurance brokerage, preferably supporting a technology/software business and/or in a global environment.
  • Knowledge of a broad range of insurance policy types.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Clear, concise, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in accessible ways to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to provide peak, seasonal focus as part of the policy renewals.
  • Basic familiarity with contract law.
  • Proficiency in Excel and managing and analyzing data.
  • Proficiency in Word for editing/red-lining documents.

Nice To Haves

  • Treasury management experience (preferred but can be trained).
  • Professional designations (ARM or CRM) and affiliations a plus.
  • Pursuit of designations and professional association membership would be supported.
  • Active US passport (to support banking signature authority and compliance) desired.

Responsibilities

  • Lead corporate insurance risk management.
  • Oversee the global insurance portfolio, advising internal partners including senior management, Legal, Facilities, and Sales.
  • Foster an awareness of risk management concepts through building and maintaining a network of key constituents (utilizing that network, keep apprised of changes and trends within the company).
  • Manage the annual policy renewal cycle: modify, enhance, and bind coverage as appropriate and submit invoices.
  • Provide expert review and editing of insurance elements of legal agreements - primarily sales contracts, event agreements, and office leases.
  • Facilitate and direct communications related to claims management.
  • Contribute insurance expertise to crisis management planning and events.
  • Maintain an inventory of all policies and amendments.
  • Manage related archives.
  • Arrange certificates of insurance at renewal and as needed throughout the year.
  • Offer guidance on insurance aspects of employee policy materials (e.g. Travel Policy).
  • Coordinate insurance aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Maintain confidentiality in reviewing and communicating critical details.
  • Secure performance bonds and letters of credit (with Treasury staff) as needed for sales contract support.
  • Provide back-up and support for the company’s Treasury functions, following the lead of Treasury staff. This includes but is not limited to the following: serving as one of the bank system administrators; providing vacation coverage for cash positioning; and assisting with select transaction processing.
