Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is designed to protect organizational objectives by providing an enterprise-wide, strategically-aligned, portfolio view of risks that improves decision making and provides for the proactive management of risks, in a manner that minimizes threats and maximizes opportunities. ERM's vision is to facilitate effective and efficient risk-based decision making; to be viewed by the Department of Energy (DOE) as the standard for Enterprise Risk Management, and; to be a trusted business advisor to senior and executive staff on all matters pertaining to risk. The ERM Specialist position facilitates improved decision making through a structured understanding of opportunities and threats across the full spectrum of the enterprise's risk portfolio. Leads strategic and tactical risk integration efforts across six domains: internal controls, operations, project, programs, portfolios, and the enterprise. Analyzes, designs, and implements processes and predictive models using a wide variety of data sets. Gains insight into key business problems and deliverables by applying statistical analysis techniques to examine structured and unstructured data from multiple disparate sources. Collaborates across departments and with customers to define requirements and understand business problems. Uses advanced mathematics, statistical, querying and reporting methods to develop solutions. Develops information tools, algorithms, dashboards, and queries to monitor and improve business performance. Creates solutions from initial concept to full implementation and deployment across the enterprise. Effectively uses current and emerging technologies to perform assigned duties. Communicates results to a broad range of audiences, acting as a trusted business advisor to senior and executive staff.
