About The Position

As a Risk Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting Whataburger's Enterprise Risk Management team while developing foundational knowledge in risk, compliance, and business operations. You'll help research, analyze, and report on key initiatives that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement across the organization. Through collaboration with cross-functional partners, you'll contribute to meaningful projects that help Make a Difference, Serve with Heart, Win as One, and Move Forward Boldly while building valuable professional experience.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to research, organize, and interpret information
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong time management and organizational abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

Current enrollment in a degree program related to Finance, Accounting, Business, Risk Management, or a related field
Experience working with data analysis or reporting tools
Exposure to audit, compliance, or risk management concepts
Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn new skills
Experience working on team-based projects or academic presentations

Responsibilities

Support risk, compliance, audit, and operational initiatives
Conduct research to support business decisions and process improvements
Assist with data analysis and reporting activities
Utilize tools and systems to track, organize, and analyze information
Collaborate with team members on projects and assigned deliverables
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Complete internship learning activities and program requirements
Provide project support and perform other duties as assigned
