Risk Data and Reporting Senior Analyst II

TruistAtlanta, GA
Onsite

About The Position

Serve as a thought leader in the delivery of complex risk reporting, analytics, data, and forward-looking risk intelligence. This role goes beyond traditional backward-looking reporting: it builds and operates decision-ready intelligence products — dashboards, signals, and narratives — that tell senior leadership where risk stands today, how fast it is moving, how broad it is, and what it could cost. Primarily aligned to stakeholders and initiatives within the Risk Management Organization, with the ability to support other areas of Truist.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 7+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Deep specialized and/or broad knowledge within a professional discipline. Solid understanding of key business processes and strategies.
  • Knowledge of the industry's competitive landscape and an understanding of the market and regulatory factors that shape the industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interpret and explain complex information to a range of audiences and build consensus among different stakeholders.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in solving technical, operational, and organizational challenges in the context of business objectives and priorities.
  • Ability to lead moderately complex projects. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree in a related field (e.g., analytics, data science, finance, economics, statistics)
  • 9+ years of related experience
  • Previous experience in banking, with specific emphasis on risk, reporting, business intelligence, data, systems, technology, or compliance
  • Relevant professional or technical certifications (e.g., Power BI/Fabric, cloud data platforms, risk or credit certifications)
  • Advanced skills in data wrangling, data engineering, data science, or related areas. Experience with languages and tools such as Python, SQL (including Snowflake), SAS, Power BI/DAX, Power Query, Tableau, Qlik, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining executive dashboards on a governed data model — including star-schema design, DAX measures, and performance tuning
  • Experience designing forward-looking or early-warning risk metrics (e.g., migration and movement analysis, velocity/trend indicators, concentration and breadth measures, stress or scenario sensitivities) rather than period-end reporting alone
  • Working knowledge of credit risk concepts and data — criticized/classified, non-performing, risk rating migration, obligor- and facility-level exposure
  • Familiarity with stress testing and allowance processes (CCAR/DFAST, CECL) and how portfolio data feeds those forecasts
  • Exposure to risk disciplines beyond credit — market, liquidity, capital, operational, financial crimes, compliance, and controls — and an interest in applying a common analytic method across them
  • Experience with AI and automation tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, agent creation to reduce manual effort
  • Experience preparing materials for and presenting to senior executives, risk committees, or the Board, with strong data storytelling and visual design skills
  • Understanding of risk data governance and controls — critical data elements, data lineage, EUC policy, model and reporting governance, and regulatory reporting expectations

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and execute complex recurring or ad hoc reports, analyses, data, system-related, or operational tasks in accordance with departmental processes and controls.
  • Investigate and research unexplained variations in reports, data, systems, etc. Explain results of reports and research to department management and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and administer controls to ensure the integrity of departmental process. Evaluate and recommend improvements to departmental processes.
  • Assist with development of departmental documentation, particularly for highly complex and technical activities.
  • Serve as a consultative resource on risk reporting, data, system, or related issues. Engage with stakeholders to identify business objectives and scope solution requirements.
  • Lead moderate projects with heightened risks, complexity, and resource requirements; play significant roles in larger initiatives.
  • Mentor less experienced teammates to build their own technical expertise.
