About The Position

The Strategy and Growth functional area is dedicated to long-term strategic and infrastructure planning. With electricity demand expected to double over the next 15 years, we’re building an energy system of the future for the world’s fourth-largest economy. It includes Energy Policy and Procurement, Strategy and Innovation, Integrated Long-Term Planning, and the Commercial Growth Organization. The Risk Analyst is responsible for supporting the identification, assessment, and monitoring of regulatory and compliance-related risks for Electric Operations. This role maintains enterprise-aligned compliance risk registers, supports the implementation and effectiveness of compliance controls, and contributes to audit readiness activities across operational and regulatory domains. The incumbent collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate compliance risks, support mitigation strategy development, and help sustain effective compliance practices. This individual serves as a subject matter expert on regulatory compliance frameworks and contributes to efforts that enhance operational readiness for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Ten years of experience in risk management, utility operations, and/or related field

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for operational / business risk and compliance strategy within assigned line of business. Leads risk assessment efforts across line of business. in accordance with PG&E standard practice.
  • May own compliance risk register or collaborate with leadership on its development and maintenance. Oversees coordination of updates working with asset family stakeholders and risk champions.
  • Provides process support, advice, and recommendations to ensure effective risk management within the business.
  • Supports the identification, assessment, and monitoring of regulatory and compliance-related risks across federal and state requirements for Electric Operations.
  • Develops and enhances compliance risk management processes, tools, and metrics.
  • Works with line of business clients to develop, implement, and monitor appropriate risk and compliance mitigation activities and controls.
  • Partners with Internal Audit, Regulatory Affairs, subject matter experts, and enterprise risk functions to support compliance initiatives.
  • Engages with industry groups and external stakeholders to stay informed on regulatory trends and best practices.
  • Develops compelling business cases for or against specific courses of action related to electric risk regulatory risk.
  • Recognizes and communicates internal and external developments that may impact risks.
  • Leverages risk information to understand and challenge business decisions.
  • Supports development of best practices in electric and regulatory risk management across line of business.
  • Develops and coordinates the preparation of presentation materials for various levels of management, including executives.
  • Coaches less experienced risk analysts.
  • Participates in established risk management forums at the enterprise level.
