About The Position

Cherry Bekaert is a leading accounting and consulting firm that provides innovative advisory, assurance, and tax services. The Risk Advisory team is expanding, and this role will be instrumental in helping organizations optimize their internal controls for growth, risk management, and sustainable operations. The position offers diverse engagement work across various industries and client sizes, focusing on risk management, internal controls, SOX, internal audit, business process improvement, IT risks, and risk analytics.

Requirements

  • Senior pursuing a Masters or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting or CIS.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above preferred.
  • Developing a solid understanding of accounting standards (US GAAP).
  • Curiosity about business operations and the impact of accounting and information systems on key classes of business transactions.
  • Interest in internal accounting controls, professional standards and regulations, and information systems.
  • Capable of working in a demanding, deadline-driven environment with a focus on details and accuracy.
  • Solid organizational skills, especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments successfully.
  • Willing to pursue relevant professional designations (e.g., CPA, CIA).
  • Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must not require work sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Support the performance of risk consulting and accounting consulting engagements.
  • Resolve issues for clients in areas of risk management, internal controls, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), internal audit business process improvement, information technology risks, and risk analytics.
  • Support project quality control and client engagements from start to finish, including planning, fieldwork, engagement wrap-up, and report composition.
  • Maintain a strong client focus by understanding client business needs and developing productive working relationships.
  • Provide recommendations regarding client risks over financial reporting, compliance, operations, and fraud.
