As a Internal Audit Associate (Financial/Operations), you'll gain exposure and develop your expertise across a broad range of banking operations while collaborating with experienced professionals, building meaningful client relationships, and making an immediate impact.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline
- Progress toward or completion of a relevant professional certification including CIA, CFSA, CBA, CPA, or CFE
- One or more years of experience in professional services, internal audit, banking, or credit union environments
- Knowledge of federal and state banking regulations
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and client-focused environment
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building capabilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business technologies
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed, not expected to exceed 25%
Responsibilities
- Work alongside a collaborative team to execute internal audit and risk advisory engagements for financial institution clients
- Assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls across financial, operational, and regulatory functions
- Perform risk assessments and reviews to identify opportunities for improved controls, efficiency, and compliance
- Monitor engagement progress, helping ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering valuable insights and exceptional service
- Support audits and advisory projects across areas such as: Lending, Deposits, Asset Liability Management (ALM), Interest Rate Risk (IRR), and Liquidity, Investments and Borrowings, Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL), Accounting and Financial Reporting, Trust Operations, Regulatory Compliance, FDICIA and SOX
