About The Position

Armanino is seeking a Summer 2027 Risk Advisory Intern for its Northern California location. This internship offers hands-on experience in public accounting and consulting, providing exposure to financial and IT audits, SOC audits, IT General Controls support, ISO Assessments, SOX, Internal Audits, and Agreed Upon Procedures engagements. Interns will work alongside professionals, gain insight into client systems and control environments, learn to evaluate process risks, and develop business acumen. The role involves approximately 60% project work, 20% continued learning, 10% client-facing interaction, and 10% internal meetings.

Requirements

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master’s program in business with an emphasis in accounting

Nice To Haves

Plan to complete 150 semester/225 quarter unit requirement for CPA licensure eligibility between December 2027 – August 2028 strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Gain real-world exposure to financial and IT audits, reviews, compilations, and projects
Learn the client’s system and control environment and how it impacts their associated customer users
Learn the client’s controls including general controls (i.e., financial operations, IT controls) and transactional controls (I.e., processing controls such as reconciliations)
Learn to evaluate process risks, develop tests for key controls, and determine effectiveness of controls
Gain business acumen in a professional work environment
Perform tests or procedures under supervision to collect sufficient evidence for client reporting standards
Assist in fieldwork for client engagements including SOC audits, IT General Controls support, ISO Assessments, SOX, Internal Audits, and Agreed Upon Procedures
Interact with clients to identify and resolve audit issues
