About The Position

The Downstacker is responsible for stacking and banding boards coming out of the Rip Saw, ensuring product quality and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. This role reports to the Shift Supervisor and collaborates with the Rip Saw Operator.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and move boards weighing 50 – 75 lbs. (with assistance).
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders/stairs, bend, push, pull, and reach for the duration of an 8-hour shift.
  • Work in an uncontrolled temperature environment.
  • Excellent safety awareness for self and others.
  • Good mechanical skills.
  • Proficiency in operating PLC screens.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills including addition and subtraction of multiple numbers and fractions.
  • Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch.
  • Ability to work without constant supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred background in agricultural or industrial settings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections of the product to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Make minor adjustments to the machine to maintain product tolerance.
  • Stack boards and pieces onto a lift table or cart in a neat and orderly fashion according to size as they come off the saw. Place tags on units and use the banding tool to affix strapping.
  • Keep the Shift Supervisor informed of any safety-related issues or concerns.
  • Maintain good housekeeping by keeping the work area free from clutter and debris.
  • Complete end-of-shift paperwork in a neat and legible fashion.
