Responsible for providing assistance in developing and maintaining all right-of-way (ROW) records dealing with the acquisition of land, land rights, licenses, leases, permits, and other documents necessary for the construction, operation and maintenance of electric transmission and/or distribution lines. This role involves maintaining property owner files, maps, drawings, exhibits, and progress reports, and acting as an administrator for applicable ROW applications and document systems. The specialist will support ROW Agents in maintaining the encroachment database, researching property ownership and easements, and assisting in searching courthouse and other records to determine present property ownerships and the extent of those interests. Additionally, the role involves responding to customer inquiries about AEP easements and landowner documents, processing invoice payments, and supporting ROW Agents in drafting various legal documents such as rights of entry, damage claims, contracts, easements, licenses, leases, releases, permits, and options to purchase. The position also assists other AEP business units with land and land rights acquisition procedures, maintains and processes lease payments, provides information for monthly reports and annual lease budgets, and assists in preparing and maintaining a procedures manual. The role includes preparing and issuing monthly project status reports for required metrics and benchmarks, and assisting ROW Agents in the settlement of damage claims and negotiations with landowners. Promoting and enforcing safety practices is also a key responsibility, along with assuming other assigned duties.
