Right of Way Intern
About The Position
As a Right of Way Intern in HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you will gain real-world experience supporting infrastructure projects and learn about acquiring property rights and relocating displacees. You will perform entry-level technical services for right of way projects under the direct supervision of a manager or other professionals. Work may include property research, ordering title, administrative duties, preparing documents, tracking data, researching records for non-complex relocations, and drafting relocation notices required under the Uniform Relocation Act. The role also offers opportunities to connect with staff and company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs.
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in HDR’s employee-owned culture.
Nice To Haves
- Two years completed toward a degree with a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- Relevant coursework in real estate, social science, paralegal studies, legal studies, urban planning, or related fields.
Responsibilities
- Gain real-world experience on infrastructure projects.

- Perform entry-level technical services for right of way projects, including property research, ordering title, and administrative duties.
- Support the Right of Way Team with document preparation as needed.
- Input and track data in spreadsheets and/or a database.
- Assist with records research for non-complex relocations.
- Assist in drafting relocation notices required under the Uniform Relocation Act.
- Perform other duties as needed.
