About The Position

The Rigging Foreman supervises rigging services for on-site and mobile customers when field work or construction knowledge is required. The role directly oversees crews to ensure work is timely, high quality, and compliant with safety standards, customer specifications, and company requirements. The Foreman frequently travels to job sites and oversees work and assigned personnel. The role also includes hands-on staff training, communicating job scope and expectations, resolving minor employee or scheduling concerns, and providing job information or reports as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Three years of experience as a rigging foreman and/or general foreman.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, or schematics as needed.
English-language skills sufficient to keep accurate, legible logs and records and convey information in English.
Ability to apply basic arithmetic and measurement concepts, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, and to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret a wide range of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and work with abstract and concrete variables.
Basic computer knowledge using a Windows-based system; familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and/or company-specific software, or ability to learn.
Valid driver's license and ability to be insured.
Ability to work in a high-functioning team environment.

Maintain top-of-mind awareness of safety for oneself and everyone at the job site.
Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual English/Spanish ability; not required.
Knowledge of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Responsibilities

Supervise phases of rigging and crating work, adapting supervisory activities to job specifications.
Ensure customer and MEI requirements are followed.
Coordinate multiple activities professionally while working under pressure.
Provide hands-on or in-the-moment training to new and existing staff.
Promote teamwork and cooperation within and between crews.
Set clear performance expectations and review work at key stages and upon job completion.
Maintain tools, gauges, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe condition, and instruct others in their proper use and care.
Represent MEI professionally and courteously, with a customer-service and solutions-oriented approach.
Address minor employee concerns, scheduling conflicts, and manpower issues.
Provide job-related guidance to field personnel and clarify instructions when necessary.
Communicate job scope and broader project details, and help envision successful outcomes.
Provide information or generate reports about jobs or projects as requested by management.
Follow company policies and procedures, especially safety regulations, and encourage others to do the same.
Travel frequently to job sites and oversee work and assigned personnel as appropriate.
Perform other duties as necessary or requested.
