About The Position

Landwehr Construction, Inc. is seeking a Rigger Foreman to oversee field crews, ensure safety, and manage job completion. This union role, dispatched from the St. Cloud office, involves working outdoors on various job sites with variable start and end times. The company is a fifth-generation, diverse construction firm operating primarily in the Midwest.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years rigging and Versa lift experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate all models of mobile, telescopic, truck mounted/boom truck, rough terrain, and crawler cranes.
  • Basic knowledge of rigging procedures to ensure safety during heavy lifts.
  • Strong understanding of crane functions and limitations, assembly and disassembly procedures.
  • Ability to observe load hookup to determine safety of load.
  • Ability to assemble rigging to safely lift and move equipment or material.
  • Ability to select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved.
  • Ability to attach load with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains, to crane hook.
  • Ability to give directions to Crane Operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled, using hand signals, or radio while guiding crane operators as objects are being moved and set into place.
  • Knowledge of where to attach the hooks, chains, and cables to lift a load safely.
  • Ability to visually inspect rigging to ensure safety and reliability by checking tag for current inspection date.
  • Ability to dismantle, account for, and properly store rigging equipment after job.
  • Ability to make sure all safety requirements are always met.
  • Ability to maintain clean company equipment surfaces and component parts.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment.
  • Ability to lubricate moving parts of heavy equipment.
  • Ability to change oil in machine reservoirs; clean and replace oil filters as needed.
  • Ability to ensure that automatic lubrication equipment operates correctly.
  • Ability to fill automatic dispensers, oil cans, and oil cups.
  • Ability to complete logs, reports, or other documentation related to the installation, replacement, modification, or changing of machine parts and attachments.
  • Ability to remove superfluous oil and grease from machinery, tools, and floor.
  • Compliance with applicable federal, state, and company laws, regulations, and guidelines regarding health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Willingness to travel overnight at times.
  • Thorough understanding of machines and tools being used.
  • Ability and willingness to wear all required personal protective equipment and place safety as the top priority.
