About The Position

Turner Industries is seeking a Rig Welder for project work in the Pasadena, TX area. This role is ideal for candidates local to the area as no per diem is offered. The Welder will need to provide their own truck/Rig. Expected work hours are 40-50+ hours per week, subject to change. Candidates must pass a weld test and safety council evaluation. A drug test and employment physical are required.

Requirements

Minimum four (4) years of experience in specified skill.
Written pre-employment qualification test.
Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
Hazard Communication orientation/test.
Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination.
OSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87).
Job site orientation.
Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms, such as tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, pipe, and building and bridge parts.
Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure in position for welding.
Set up equipment and weld parts.
May assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
May weld pipe such as carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome, etc., by process of arc, heliarc, gas, mig, tig, etc.
May weld pipe, sheet metal, structural steel, brackets, or other materials.
May repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
May use a cutting torch to cut materials and demo existing assemblies.
