About The Position

The Rheumatology Nurse (RN/LPN) at OrthoArkansas plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with rheumatic conditions. This position supports the Rheumatology team by providing clinical care, patient education, and care coordination while ensuring a compassionate and efficient patient experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to excellence in patient care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN).
  • Minimum of 2 years of related clinical experience preferred, with rheumatology experience a plus.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to respond effectively in urgent situations.
  • Knowledge of current healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Current RN or LPN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (if applicable)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Compassionate approach to patient care and education.
  • Basic: Alphanumeric data entry, word processing, typing

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide and manage patient care in a clinical setting.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and accurately document findings.
  • Monitor and manage patient responses to medications and treatments.
  • Collaborate with the Rheumatology team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Educate patients on rheumatic conditions, treatment plans, and self-management strategies.
  • Address patient questions regarding medications, side effects, and lifestyle adjustments.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers to support understanding and compliance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all nursing interventions and patient interactions.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, coordinating diagnostic testing, and obtaining authorizations.
  • Maintain accurate records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic operations.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to best practice development.
  • Work collaboratively in a team-oriented clinical environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support clinic operations and patient care excellence.
