About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for a Rheumatology, Assistant/Associate/Professor position within the Department of Internal Medicine at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. This role involves patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as the supervision and teaching of Internal Medicine Residents and Medical Students. The program is affiliated with the University Medical Center (UMC) of Southern Nevada, offering a comprehensive mix of inpatient and ambulatory teaching experiences. UNLV physicians are academic faculty dedicated to providing excellent, compassionate care to a diverse community in the Las Vegas valley. As an employee of UNLV, you will join a diverse university and the Rebels Family, which includes faculty, students, and staff from the School of Medicine and allied health professional schools. The SOM Faculty Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure (FAPT) Committee will use the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV (SOM) promotion criteria to recommend rank to the Dean of the SOM. Tenure consideration may be granted on a case-by-case basis, depending on verified previous credentials, the FAPT recommendation, and the SOM Dean's recommendation.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited residency program
  • Board certified or board eligible in Rheumatology prior to start date (certification must be completed within the first two years of employment if board eligible)
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment
  • Ability to possess and maintain a Nevada State Board of Pharmacy license and DEA license
  • Nevada medical license must be obtained prior to start date
  • Malpractice coverage must meet credentialing requirements
  • Must be able to obtain privileges at University Medical Center (UMC) and other site locations as needed
