About The Position

Trilogy Innovations, Inc. is seeking an RHEL Systems Engineer to provide continuous hands-on engineering coverage across all workstreams of a federal infrastructure modernization engagement. This role spans RHEL build and configuration, Satellite integration, identity management, automation development support, and knowledge transfer, and serves as leave-coverage backup for senior engineers throughout the period of performance. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of IT experience, 5+ years of RHEL operations and engineering experience across enterprise federal environments, with demonstrated versatility across the Red Hat ecosystem. You are equally comfortable owning a workstream independently and filling gaps across other workstreams as program needs shift.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience accepted
  • 10+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years of RHEL operations and engineering experience across enterprise federal environments, with demonstrated versatility across the Red Hat ecosystem
  • RHCE certification, with RHCA or RHCSA also valued, and Red Hat Specialist credentials in one or more of Ansible Automation, Containers, Virtualization, or Deployment and Systems Management
  • Experience with Terraform/Ansible IaC and federal security environments

Nice To Haves

  • Active federal clearance (Public Trust, Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI) preferred, or DOE badge eligibility is a strong differentiator.
  • Experience working within a federal security framework

Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8.x, 9.x, and 10.x baseline images within virtualized enterprise environments, ensuring alignment with security, compliance, and operational standards.
  • Support Red Hat Satellite integration activities, including content registration, host collection management, content lifecycle administration, patch deployment, and compliance scanning.
  • Develop, test, and maintain Ansible automation solutions, including reusable roles, playbooks, and Molecule-tested content to support consistent and scalable system administration.
  • Implement and support enterprise identity management integrations, including Active Directory, SSSD, LDAP, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions such as YubiKey and Smart Card authentication.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and security teams to ensure systems are configured, secured, and maintained in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Linux infrastructure, automation, and identity management issues across development, test, and production environments.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and knowledge transfer artifacts as part of project delivery requirements.
  • Participate in system validation, compliance activities, and operational readiness efforts to support successful deployments and ongoing system health.
  • Provide cross-functional support and operational continuity across workstreams, ensuring project momentum and service delivery are maintained during planned and unplanned team absences.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance automation, standardization, efficiency, and operational resilience across the environment.
