About The Position

Avery Dennison is seeking innovators, collaborators, and problem solvers for their Intern and Co-Op Program, which focuses on cultivating future talent. This program offers a blend of on-the-job learning, a dynamic environment, access to business leaders, and a supportive team. The specific role is for an RFID New Process Development Engineer to support process development engineers in the mass manufacturing of Intelligent Labels/RFID tags. The work environment will be primarily an office or application lab, utilizing automated RFID test systems and RFID printer and reader systems. This position requires an understanding of engineering disciplines and scientific processes for testing, data collection, organization, and reporting. The role is available for Summer 2027 Internship, Fall 2027 Co-Op, or both, serving as a talent pipeline for the Early Careers Program.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a focus on Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or other Engineering discipline.
• Must be at least junior standing.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
• Must be willing to join during at least two semesters, including one non-summer term.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of CNC Technology
• General familiarity with electronic systems and introductory programming background is preferred.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel or Google Equivalent
• Previous co-op experience
• Experience via student organizations, such as Engineers without Borders, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Chemical Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, etc.
• Volunteerism or similar activities

Responsibilities

• Provide support for process engineers working on the development of new technology for the mass manufacturing of Intelligent Labels/RFID tags.
• Work in support of process development engineers.
• Work directly with engineers and influencing process development and customer use case decisions.
• Obtain deep knowledge of RFID technology which can be a critical link for enabling the Internet of Things, Blockchain and Omni-Channel fulfillment.
• Work as part of a technical team environment, with professionals trained on testing methods, critical thinking, data analysis and reporting in spreadsheets, documentation, and generating technical and customer-facing reports.
