About The Position

Leidos' Defense Systems Kinetic Effects is seeking an RF SME Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will serve as an Electrical Engineer that will handle aspects of component testing, leading to production of Hypersonic Glide Bodies (HGB). This role involves knowledge of testing with an emphasis on analysis of test requirements, test methods, and analysis of test parameters. Specific duties will include reviewing HGB integrated test documentation to assess processes and methods meet test requirements, reviewing existing integrated test equipment Technical Data Package and drawings to ensure they are correct and up to date, assisting in preparation of future changes to test equipment for implementation into production use, and verifying quality, documentation, and test requirements are met through verification and validation plans. Additionally, the candidate will support the development of future test designs by understanding system interconnect diagrams, hardware and software requirements, developing test methods and procedures to meet test requirements, and assisting in developing Technical Data Packages for delivery to customers. The candidate will also need to write/issue Non-Conformance Reports and address quality issues during the Integrated Test process. The work will be conducted in an integration/production facility along with a laboratory environment. Travel to Sandia National Labs and other production facilities may be necessary.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited school is required.
  • At least 8+ years of relevant experience or four (4) additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Capable of reading engineering drawings and following work instructions to produce complex assemblies and provide valuable feedback to engineering.
  • Familiarity with working with RF systems schematics and cable/wiring diagrams, and how to read requirements from them.
  • Familiarity with requirement decomposition.
  • Able to work independently, or as part of a team, in a dedicated workforce.
  • Able to provide rapid integration and troubleshooting support for system-level integration.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of design and testing of RF components including Antennas (CRPA and Directional), LNAs, RF Switches, Splitter/Combiners, Duplexers, Couplers and Cables
  • Demonstrate an understanding of RF Test Data
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and test methods including the use of Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzer, Power Meter, etc.
  • Knowledge of Test Procedure development
  • Knowledge of post data processing
  • Organizational skills to document designs, assist with Technical Data Packages (TDP) and support production and test of RF Components and Receivers
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating within a team environment, which will include test, and manufacturing engineers.

Nice To Haves

  • GPS Test Experience including M Code and Anti-Jamming techniques
  • Design, test, troubleshooting, and manufacture of analog/mixed signal electronic circuit card and/or integrated RF assemblies
  • Experience with manufacturing and production of RF components
  • Experience or knowledge of RCC 324 Range Reequipments for Global Positioning and Inertial Measurements Range Safety Tracking Systems Commonality Standard
  • Have a current DoD Secret clearance.
  • Knowledge of NI Software
  • Knowledge of ASME and IEEE standards
