About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Secret-Cleared RF Test Engineer in Baltimore, Maryland for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support RF/microwave hardware integration, test, troubleshooting, and subsystem verification in a manufacturing and laboratory environment. The engineer will work hands-on with RF assemblies, receiver/exciter hardware, test equipment, and automated test tools while supporting performance analysis and requirements verification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline with 2+ years of relevant experience; master’s degree with 0+ years; or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required to start.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting RF and/or microwave hardware.
  • Experience troubleshooting RF hardware and subsystems in a manufacturing or integration environment.
  • Experience using RF laboratory test equipment such as signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, or similar instrumentation.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design tools, and test equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware problems using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience supporting integration, test, and requirements verification activities.
  • Ability to communicate technical approaches, findings, and recommendations clearly.
  • Principal-Level Track: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 3+ years. Additional 4 years of relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex RF hardware and subsystem issues.
  • Experience solving RF/microwave design and test problems of increasing technical scope and complexity.

Nice To Haves

  • Component-level electronic troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with Integrated Receiver Exciter Assemblies or similar highly integrated RF subsystems.
  • RF performance analysis and data reduction experience.
  • Experience with RF-to-digital subsystem architectures.
  • Experience performing RF measurements and analyzing test data.
  • Experience with hardware/software integration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience using Common RF Test Set, LM-STAR, Hiller, Phase Noise, or similar automated test systems.
  • Experience using or developing software to control test hardware.
  • MATLAB and/or Python experience.
  • Test scripting, signal-processing, and data-analysis experience.
  • Experience with Git and Atlassian tools.
  • Experience mentoring RF test or design engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Test and troubleshoot RF Line Replaceable Units and Circuit Card Assemblies.
  • Perform RF subsystem integration and verification activities.
  • Troubleshoot electronic and RF hardware to the component and subsystem level.
  • Conduct RF performance testing and analyze test results.
  • Support requirements verification and recommend data-driven threshold adjustments.
  • Evaluate highly integrated receiver/exciter and RF-to-digital hardware.
  • Operate RF laboratory instrumentation and automated test equipment.
  • Develop or use test-support applications and scripts.
  • Support hardware/software integration and resolve technical anomalies.
  • Perform data reduction, analysis, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, software, and test teams.
  • Support mentoring and technical leadership activities for more experienced assignments.
