About The Position

Lockheed Martin Cyber & Intelligence is seeking an RF Systems Engineer to protect critical infrastructure and networks. This role involves applying systems engineering principles throughout the entire systems lifecycle, interacting with government stakeholders, and ensuring the technical integrity of work products. The engineer will perform various systems engineering activities, analyze technical alternatives, and develop work products aligned with ISO/IEC 15288 standards. The position requires a strong understanding of RF theory and practical application in testing and component specification, with a focus on ensuring optimal functionality and meeting electromagnetic environmental effects (E3) noise electric field limits.

Requirements

  • Must have current TS/SCI with Poly
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience.
  • A High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area) may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of systems engineering experience.
  • A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for three (3) years of systems engineering experience.
  • Experience with coding Python and Visual Basic for applications
  • Strong experience in applying RF theoretical and academic knowledge in EMI testing unintended emissions within HF, VHF, and UHF spectrum
  • Familiar with RF tools (network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes) and components (amplifiers, filters, isolators, attenuators, terminators, etc)
  • Formulating and documenting test plans
  • Draft and issue technical recommendations through formal test reports

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in electromagnetic compatibility testing, electromagnetic interference mitigation, and /or antenna calibration.

Responsibilities

  • Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement.
  • Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.
  • Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
  • Responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288.
  • Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of a work product in Technical Process Areas associated with the ISO/IEC 15288.
  • Develop and deliver a work product in any of the ISO/IEC 15288 Process Areas.
  • Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations.
  • Assist in performing systems engineering activities in the ISO/IEC 15288 Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas.
  • Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of multiple work products in Project and/or Technical Process Areas associated with any of the ISO/IEC 15288 processes.
  • Specify and/or review system and component technical performance requirements to ensure optimal functionality while meeting E3 noise electric field limit.
  • Collaborate internal and external agency stakeholders to ensure technical support enables the E3 Program and customer mission requirements.
