About The Position

Chartis Federal is seeking an experienced RF Network Engineer to support the design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of mission-critical network infrastructure supporting our customer. This role supports routers, switches, firewalls, network transport systems, and communications infrastructure required to maintain secure and reliable tactical communications capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, information technology, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of network engineering experience
  • Experience with enterprise routing, switching, firewalls, and network troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • Experience supporting secure government or enterprise infrastructure
  • Experience with change management and configuration control
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Perform system upgrades, firmware updates, security patching, and hotfix implementation
  • Monitor system performance, availability, reliability, and resource utilization
  • Conduct capacity planning and trend analysis
  • Provide Tier II / Tier III technical troubleshooting support
  • Support incident diagnosis and root cause analysis
  • Coordinate with vendors, internal engineering teams, and Government stakeholders
  • Support configuration and change management processes
  • Perform data backup activities
  • Maintain network documentation and technical diagrams
  • Evaluate network performance and recommend improvements
  • Support LAN infrastructure troubleshooting and repairs
  • Participate in technical events, infrastructure modernization efforts, and ad hoc engineering projects
  • Ensure cybersecurity controls and network security requirements are maintained
