About The Position

The RF Front-End Systems Lead will play a central role in the architecture, design, prototyping, and validation of LATYS wireless systems. This is a full-time in-person role in Montreal. We are looking for an engineer who is equally comfortable working at the theoretical level and building real hardware that performs in the field. This role requires strong technical judgment, independence, and the ability to execute quickly in an R&D-driven startup environment. You will work on RF front-end architectures involving antennas, amplifiers, phase control systems, filtering, and intelligent RF propagation technologies operating across Wi-Fi, 5G and next-generation wireless systems. The ideal candidate is someone who thinks beyond textbook implementations, can transform ideas into deployable hardware, communicates clearly across technical and non-technical teams, and thrives in environments where initiative and execution matter. You will have significant influence over product direction, hardware architecture, prototyping strategy, and future generations of LATYS technology. We are particularly interested in candidates who have taken ownership of complex RF systems and driven them from concept to working hardware.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience designing, building, and testing RF circuits and antennas in the RF and microwave range.
  • Knowledge of RF front-end components such as antennas, filters, phase shifters, isolators, LNAs, PAs, circulators, etc.
  • Experience with high-frequency PCB design and RF layout considerations.
  • Familiar with 3D EM and system simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, and ADS.
  • Experience with antenna/RF measurements using standard RF test equipment: multimeters, power meters, spectrum analyzers, and vector network analyzers, for both near- and far-field systems.
  • Ability to independently drive technical concepts from specification through prototype validation and deployment.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving R&D environments with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.
  • High-agency, hands-on engineering mindset with the ability to rapidly prototype and iterate.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts, design trade-offs, and project outcomes across engineering and cross-functional teams in English (French is a plus).
  • Highly organized, disciplined, and collaborative engineering mindset.
