About The Position

As an RF Engineer in our small business, you will have the opportunity to work on everything from new business development to design, estimating, and proposal development to RF Engineering and Project Management. You will obtain real-world installation experience. In this capacity, you will be on the ground, managing day-to-day operations at job sites in addition to working out of our NY office. This includes conducting site surveys, interfacing with customers, designing systems, developing quotes and proposals, and conducting job closeout testing and reporting activities. You must be willing, able, and eager to assist with installations and at times complete installations independently. As you grow, you will be responsible for managing legal and contractual requirements, budgets, scheduling, project completion timelines, and deliverables for projects. You will drive safety, quality, and customer satisfaction, and you will use your exceptional communication, planning, and organization skills to support both business and operations activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or a related Engineering degree or a Construction Management degree with some relevant coursework or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and aptitude (work or hobby) related to building things- taking things apart and putting them together.
  • Experience using hand tools.
  • Ability to research technical issues and to develop accurate conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret manuals and to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Must be able to work effectively within a diverse workforce including engineers, project managers, skilled craft workers, consultants, customers, and regulatory agency personnel.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate complex issues with customers, peers, managers, and regulatory agencies.
  • English proficiency is required.
  • Must be willing to reside in the Albany, NY region.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization for the US.
  • Willing to travel 10-20% of the year.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a company drug screen and background check.
  • This position requires in-office work and field work with occasional remote work flexibility.

  • Experience working with radio frequency, fiber optic communication systems, or telephone/PBX systems
  • Prior field engineering, construction-related experience

  • Related internships or summer experiences
  • Project Management Coursework or Project Management experience
  • Experience with iBwave, Spectrum analyzers, PIM, Line Sweeping, CAD
