About The Position

TeleWorld Solutions is seeking an RF Engineer IV/Lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) to serve as the highest-level technical authority for RF engineering within assigned markets or programs. The role leads end-to-end RF design, optimization strategy, performance validation, and technical governance across complex 4G LTE and 5G NR networks. The Lead SME establishes standards, mentors senior engineers, and partners with executive stakeholders to support network excellence, launch readiness, and KPI success. The position supports multi-technology wireless network deployments and works across R&D, program management, core networking, RF engineering, transport, and technical/training teams. It includes RF planning and optimization, performance troubleshooting, coverage and capacity analysis, special-event and in-building solutions, team guidance, customer communication, and delivery oversight. The work environment combines office and field work, with travel of up to 25–40% depending on project phase. On-call support is required during launches or critical performance events.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
10–15+ years of progressive RF engineering experience in carrier or OEM environments.
Expert-level knowledge of LTE and 5G NR air-interface principles.
Proven leadership of large-scale optimization, launch, and modernization programs.
Advanced experience with RF planning, optimization, and drive-test tools.
Strong understanding of antenna theory, propagation models, interference management, and link budgets.
Demonstrated ability to lead without authority and influence senior stakeholders.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

OEM experience with Samsung, Ericsson, Nokia, or Alcatel-Lucent.
Advanced experience with C-band, mmWave, Massive MIMO, TDD, and CBRS.
Knowledge of O-RAN, vRAN, Cloud RAN, or centralized RAN architectures.
Tier-1 carrier experience with Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, or Dish.
Automation and analytics experience with Python, MATLAB, Power BI, or Tableau.
CBRS CPI Certification.

Responsibilities

Support multifunctional R&D, program management, core networking, RF engineering, transport, and technical/training teams in multi-technology wireless network deployments across customer markets.
Understand relationships between performance issues, performance metrics, RF parameters, and Layer 3 messaging.
Use knowledge of peg counts, formulas, and CSL data.
Identify and resolve network performance issues.
Design and implement eFEMTO and PICO hardware for special events or in-building coverage solutions.
Conduct link-budget analysis and system dimensioning for coverage and capacity, including traffic analysis, frequency planning, interference analysis, and optimization.
Apply optimization techniques to improve site and cluster performance, including antenna selection, tilts, and neighbor lists.
Use neighbor lists, parameters, tools, and audit processes proficiently.
Use commands, run scripts, macros, RF tools, and MapInfo.
Optimize site and cluster performance and resolve trouble tickets using reports, tools, scanners, and drive-test analysis.
Perform propagation work using tools such as Planet, Tornado, Wizard, Odyssey, and dB Planner for model calibration, drive-test data post-processing, map generation, frequency planning, interference-matrix analysis, and site-database maintenance.
Coordinate with Implementation and Operations teams on cell-site antenna and RF equipment configuration and database parameters.
Manage workload, projects, and deliverables to meet project timelines.
Train engineers and other team members.
Direct and schedule activities for RF contractors and drive teams.
Provide RF ATP, cluster-acceptance forecasts, and revenue projections.
Present technical and nontechnical ideas clearly and persuasively in writing and verbally.
Provide SME-level technical guidance, presentations, and communication to the customer.
Provide on-call support during launches or critical performance events.
